Hello to one and all! It's been a good but busy week as usual. Sister Chan and I have been in the Visitor Center alot. She is my fellow trainer for the VC. Anyways, we have been busy thinking of and applying ways to improve the VC. One thing that we are going to implement is a set of key indicator goals. We are excited but it's taken alot of our time from our area preparing all this. We even got to call down to the sisters at the Temple Square mission and got some ideas from them. It was fun to talk with them and see how things work there. Not going to lie tho, it's been a bit frustrating trying to keep both areas of my mission going but I love it and would have it no other way. We get the best of both worlds. We had an elder come in a little while ago who I am convinced is secretly a sister hater! Anyways he walks in shakes my hand and I said "elder, your hands are cold." He then replied "that's because I'm out doing real work." Oh I could have killed. He came in a few days later to drop something off and right before he left, he looked down at his planner, then at me, then at his planner and said "well I'm off to do some real missionary work" and I couldn't help myself and I said "elder, I'm sorry that the Lord called us to do twice the work in half the time." That shut him up and I haven't heard anything about that since!
Sister Price continues to amaze me. She's incredible and I feel so blessed to be her companion again another transfer. We taught the Restoration lesson to a couple, Kim and Kevin Dekold. They are amazing! But, they had a concern and Sister Price jumped right in and answered it perfectly. She's a champ!
Yesterday, we had an interesting experience in one of our Gospel Principles class. Kim Rawson, a less active that comes to church has some issues mentally. She likes to inform everyone of what the Bible "really means" and hates the Book of Mormon and is not afraid to let people know it. Troy Fuller is a former investigator that we promptly gave over to the elders after meeting with him for the first time and he kept calling us his beautiful sisters. He also has some very interesting points of view. Put them together and that's what we had in class. I was panicked! I felt this uneasiness and right after the lesson started, I felt calm and just had this feeling that everything would be alright. Sure enough, they both kept quiet for the most part and when they did comment, it actually almost was about what we had been talking about. An answer to prayer!! It was a tender mercy, that's for sure.
I had a really cool experience while making calls at the VC the other day. We ask people as they come in for people that they know who are not members of our faith anywhere around the world that they would like to send a free dvd about our Savior to. Then us sister missionaries call those that they referred and offer it to them. That gives them the opportunity to accept or reject and gives us an opportunity to offer them to learn more by having the missionaries come over. Well, I called this girl named Ashley. She is going to school in Logan. She was incredible. She said that she was raised catholic but since being in Logan she wants to learn about what we believe. She did say the first week she had to have her LDS friends translate what was being talked about because she had no idea what was going on. We have a lingo all of our own. Anyways, she readily accepted the Restoration video and told me to keep her number and give her a call when I get back to Logan. How awesome is that! I'm excited!
Well family, know that all is well. I'm so looking forward to General Conference! It really is the superbowl weekend for us missionaries. In between sessions we are having what I guess you could call a tail gate party with our zone, we will be grilling steaks! The members here are so good to us! Anyways, know that I love you all and I am still so happy as a missionary!!!
