More Missionary Moments!!

A Moment from Sister Wardell:

Hi family! Things are great here. We have had a pretty good week. On Thursday we had a sisters conference. It was so good. It felt so good to be around all the sisters in the mission. At the end of it all, we went to Rexburg and went through a session. It was so incredible. I have missed being in the temple. Afterwards, the temple matron took us on a little tour of it. They brought us to a sealing room, showed us the nursery where the kids wait to be sealed to their parents and then to the bridal room. I just felt such a peace while in that sacred holy building!
We talked in one of our wards the other day. I wish I would have kept a tally for the number of times I have talked on my mission. I have lost count! Afterwards we were waiting in the hall when one of our Bishop's door opened and he said, just who I was looking for. He had us come in and there were two people standing there who want to talk with missionaries! We have an appt with them this week.
We also got a very exciting voicemail from a lady who set up an appt with us but wasn't there for it. We have been trying to get a hold of her for awhile and we haven't had any luck. She called and left a message apologizing that she wasn't there. Her 3 month old son has been really sick and in Primary Children's. But she said he is doing really good now and that they will be home Tues. She wants to meet with us because she wants to be baptized! That's what she said on her message. We are really excited!!
Saturday is going to be INCREDIBLE!! We are having a mission conference and two general authorities will be talking to us! I'll let you know how it all turns out!
I love you all! Take care!

A Moment from Elder Jared Wardell

I have some good news and I have some bad news. The good news is that Javier quit smoking. He even came to church with his mother. We had the baptismal font filled and everything. (by the way, the baptismal font is swimming pool about 4 feet deep that we have to set up in the relief society room, and fill up with a hose.) The bad news is, he decided not to be baptized. He thanked us for helping him quit smoking and repent of a lot of things. He hoped we didn´t think that we "wasted our time" and he asked if it was OK if he continued to come to church. That was a big blow. Of course we hadn´t wasted our time and he was ALWAYS welcome to come to church. We are going to continue teaching him and try to discover what the problem is. He has a strong testimony, but something is getting in the way. I have faith that no obstacle is too dificult for him to overcome. I think quitting smoking proved that. Keep him in your prayers.
On a happier note, his sister, Veronica, met with the missionaries in Málaga. She was very excited. She told her mom, (who told us) that 3 missionaries came to her house. One from colombia, and two like us. (the colombian was obviously a member who accompanied them). She was liked visiting with them a lot. One of them reminds her of Elder Wardell (that´s me) because he´s always joking, and the other one reminds her of Harry Potter. Maybe she will be the good example for Javier to follow.
A lot is changing in the mission work of spain. The mission of Bilbao is being merged into the missions of Madrid and Barcelona. Our new mission president in July will be President Clegg (former mission president of Bilbao) and his wife. The Canarie Islands will no longer be apart of the mission of Málaga, but will be part of the mission of Madrid. Two other stakes will be added to our mission. I think a big change like this will do a lot of good for the mission work.
A lot of this is due to the decrease in the amount of missionaries serving world-wide. I sure hope that or you young-pups have every intention of serving a mission. Make the choice now and I promise you that you won´t regret it.

Love you all, please write.
Elder Wardell
